Mountainville Project

This project involved creating a master plan for a property with significant storm-water troubles and installing hardscape and plant material for the newly conceived yard. These innovative elements were designed for a fresh, but established, rural look. The driveway was elevated and regraded to create better drainage patterns, and fieldstone border constructed with graceful lines to retain the new pea-gravel surface. An elegant custom stone fireplace and seating walls were constructed to surround a new brick patio which looked as though it had been built with the original home. Old and new plants were incorporated into the mixed native and ornamental landscape, creating a vibrant entertainment space for a family of five...and their dog. Finally, the backyard fence was removed to open the space to the surroundings in their tiny historic community.
